INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE

Indicators & Standards

As experienced in the many other sectors, it is difficult to develop the EU “Single Market” and support programs for SME in the absence of industry specific common indicators and standards. Therefore, the Cluster aims to develop those sector-specific common indicators and standards in the North-West European countries involved in the project. This will help stimulate the market of sustainable renovation in NWE Region.

In cooperation with all the stakeholders within the  Green Cluster, the term “sustainable renovation” will be defined and sector-specific common indicators and standards will be developed that will have widespread acceptance. The pilot projects in Ashford, Brussels, Val Maubee and Zoetermeer also offers excellent opportunity to ensure that practical aspects are fully taken in to account while developing the definitions, criterion, indicators and standards which will be used on transnational basis. Likewise, the inputs received from experts participating from all the countries involved in the Green Cluster will be reflected in the definitions, indicators and standards for sustainable renovation.

This action will set basis for further development of sustainable renovation sector and thereby of green markets in the North West European Region.
